An afternoon at the beach…

At Peace is about my most recent relationship with my dreams. It is not so much about the honeymoon stage as it is about applying the lessons learned from previous relationships and staying in the moment
The Release is a snapshot taken at the moment one abandons their dreams. It is about the sense of relief that you are no longer carrying the burden, anxiety and frustration associated with not being able to achieve your dreams the way you have dreamt it.

What: Portrait series;The African Man.
Medium: Still photography, oil pastels on canvas paper, mixed media.
Background: Given as a gift from a close friend, this stone carving is both familiar and foreign. Creating a driving need for me to know more about this ‘African Man’ – both captured and trapped in stone.
